Charleston Victory/Evacuation Day 2025

Kingsbury sent the British off in style yesterday during the Victory/Evacuation Day in Charlestown. Known today as Charleston, it served as the British headquarters in the Carolinas. After losing the war of American Independence, British soldiers were stuck in the colonies, waiting to return home defeated. Finally on December 14, 1782 they were given safe passage and roughly 14,000 people, including British soldiers, loyalists, freedmen and some slaves who fought for the Crown evacuated onto Royal Navy ships to new destinations.

Kingsbury has been part of this celebration for years giving them the Royal Salute of good riddance.
