An 18th century living history organization

Who We Are

We are a group of individuals and families who share a common interest in this period of our American history. Our members want to help you experience the sights, sounds and smells of American history. For weekends at a time we try to live the life, as closely as the 21st century will allow, and inform the public of what we have learned. We do this through attending battle re-enactments and living history events at municipal, state and federal parks, historic battle sites as well as speaking events at schools.

What we do

We portray the military life and customs of the period in all its aspects. We present "living history" demonstrations consisting of field tactics, drill, and camp life accurate to the Revolutionary War Era. We present shows and talks to schools, as well as interested civic groups. We travel to take part in re-enactments of Revolutionary War battles both with and without other member units of the Continental Line. Members have appeared as extras in several motion pictures and historical documentaries.

Who can join

We welcome all ages and genders to take part in historic camp life. However, in order to take the field as a member of the unit, you must be a male of at least sixteen years of age, and physically able to handle period-correct weaponry.

What to expect

Some of the tasks we do are making ammunition, preparing period-correct foods, and engaging in battle demonstrations. It’s a fun way to engage with and educate yourself on the Revolutionary War Era.

Where we go

We travel to many historic battle events across North Carolina and even some events in Georgia and Virginia. We also do firing demonstrations to educate the public and to celebrate historic anniversaries.

Why join

Becoming a member, you will be able to enjoy camping, delicious meals, and learning about how soldiers lived life back in the Revolutionary War Era. It’s a fun learning experience for all ages!
