Join us for the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Moore’s Creek bridge, the first Patriot victory prior to the Declaration of Independence. Activities will include battle events, musket and cannon demonstrations throughout both days as well as demonstrations of colonial trades.

Starting at noon at Spirit Square (the intersection of Trade & Tryon in uptown Charlotte) celebrate the signing of the Mecklenburg Declaration, the spirit of our community and the distinct and rebellious history that binds our community together. Events will include Military and Colonial Re-enactors, Historical Readings, musket and cannon firings and good ol’ American-styled patriotic celebration of who we are as a people.

Battle of huck's defeat

Reenactments of two pivotal American Revolution battles take place during the annual “Battle of Huck’s Defeat” event. Throughout the weekend, Historic Brattonsville will come alive through live action cavalry and camp life with reenactor regiments from all over the Southeast. There’ll be 18th-century artillery firing demonstrations along with pistols and sabers wielded by soldiers on horseback.
